Frequently Asked Questions

-
I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It’s collaborative and practical, with a strong focus on helping you feel better and make meaningful changes. I also offer coaching and ADHD support, depending on your needs.
-
CBT focuses on identifying and changing patterns in your thoughts and behaviours that may be holding you back. Coaching is more goal-oriented — it helps you build motivation, take action, and move forward. Many people benefit from a blend of both, which we can shape to suit you.
-
Yes — absolutely. I have a strong background in supporting people with long-term conditions and disabilities, and accessibility is something I take seriously. I’m always happy to explore reasonable adjustments to make sessions work for you.
This might include things like:
Offering alternative formats (e.g. shorter sessions, text-based support, reduced written information)
Flexibility around timing, frequency, and communication methods
Meeting in your home or local venue if online sessions aren’t accessible
I also understand that living with a disability often comes with extra expenses that aren’t always visible. That’s why I offer a concessionary rate for people who receive Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
But I also know that not everyone who identifies as disabled receives PIP — and I don’t want finances to put treatment out of reach. If you’re on a low income, receiving other benefits, or struggling financially, please get in touch to discuss sliding scale pricing. That includes people who do receive PIP but still find the concessionary rate unaffordable.
My aim is to provide support that’s genuinely accessible — and that means working with you to find a setup that feels fair and manageable. You’re always welcome to start that conversation.
-
That’s absolutely fine — and very welcome. One of the core values behind Glowing Ember is flexibility. If the options listed on the website don’t quite suit what you need, let’s talk about it. You don’t need to have it all figured out — we can explore alternatives together and create something that works for you.
Some people have found it helpful to adjust things like:
Session length (shorter or longer than 50 minutes)
Session frequency (more than once a week, fortnightly, or a mix)
Intensive blocks of support over a short period (e.g. twice-daily sessions for a week)
Extra check-ins between therapy sessions to help stay on track
Minimising written materials for accessibility (e.g. dyslexia, sight impairment, cognitive overload)
Meeting in person — at a local venue or in your home
These are just examples — not a checklist. If there's something you'd like to change or try, just reach out. We can shape the support around you.

I’m a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, registered and accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
I originally trained as an Occupational Therapist, completing my BSc in 2016, and later went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MSc level) in 2023.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide range of mental health and social care settings, including:
A wellbeing service for people with learning disabilities
A residential home for looked-after children
Homelessness support
Addiction and substance misuse
Community mental health
Talking therapy
Mental health crisis support
This broad experience has shaped the way I work — practical, compassionate, flexible, and grounded in real life. I understand how different life experiences can shape mental health, and I’m passionate about helping people move forward in a way that works for them.
